After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from
Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, Dr. Qureshi graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from the
University of Miami School of Medicine. He ranked in the top 3 students of a class of nearly 200 which earned him the honor of Junior Alpha Omega Alpha.
After medical school, Dr. Qureshi acquired his post-graduate general medical training at the
Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA, where he developed his fondness for the surrounding region. He then trained in ophthalmology at the prestigious
Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute has been consistently
ranked as the number one ophthalmology hospital in the nation since 2003.
Dr. Qureshi then immediately established a private comprehensive ophthalmology practice in the Washington, D.C. metro area. In 2012, after 3 years of practice and with the desire to acquire further skills to manage diseases of the retina and vitreous, he entered and finished a one year, intensive surgical fellowship at the Retina Institute of West Virginia. During that year alone, Dr. Qureshi performed greater than a thousand retina procedures as the primary surgeon.

Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Qureshi has contributed to the Laurel community by participating in glaucoma and diabetic screenings conducted locally and has given educational lectures in the community regarding the importance of eye care.
